After serving in the army during ww2 my grandfather Sam T. Ruffo returned home and started a small construction company in 1946 called "Sam T. Ruffo cement contractor" in Cleveland Ohio, later moving to Maple Heights. When creating this business his intentions at 1st was to make an honest living to raise and support his family witch has grown and grown over the years turning into a family business to allow his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren the opportunity to work with there hands and there minds and to teach each one what it is to be an honest person and to earn what you are worth. This business has passed threw many hands and had many names such as Ruffo concrete, Ruffo and Son, Ruffo home improvements, Sal Ruffo concrete and construction, but one thing stayed the same, "RUFFO" . Now in my care 3rd generation I Joseph Ruffo decided to bring it back to the more common name used in the past "Ruffo Concrete and Construction" and to maintain my grandfathers view of being an honest hard working man and to give our customers our best as if they are our family.
I began working in construction at the age of 9 spending my summer vacations on the job watching and learning from my grandfather, father, uncle and workers, with every year learning new things I truly started from the bottom. At the age of 14 I was being hired by contractors other then my family to finish concrete and began to see my worth, if only I learned how to save at that age.
In 1993 my family moved out of Maple Heights to Streetsboro were I finished school graduating in 1997 from Streetsboro and Maplewood JVS, I had thought about doing something other then concrete but ever since I was a little boy I told people that I will own my family business some day, so I stuck with it. After graduating I was asked to be a partner in the family business at this time ran by my oldest brother and cousin so I said yes and 2 years later I started my own family and due to many reasons I made the decision to leave and join the union to work for a large contractor. During this time I was able to learn more and put my knowledge to the test quickly becoming respected by my bosses, but still I wanted to run my family's business. After 9 years of running work for other company's I decided to rebuild my family business from the ground up with the intent to continue what my grandfather started. I am happy he had the chance to see me do this before he passed at the age of 92 in 2014.
If you are in Aurora and think your concrete could use a resurfacing or repair then you can count on Ruffo Concrete & Construction Llc to get the job done at a fair price.
